Reading
This is not an exhaustive list of my book recommendations, but some of those that I have highlighted in past emails. I like to read real paper books, but I also mix in audio books and ebooks that I check out via the library’s Libby app:
The Well-Lived Life by Dr. Gladys McGarey
The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting by Claire Pooley
Love at First by Kate Clyborn
Tell Me Everything by Minka Kelly
Hello Stranger by Katherine Center was my July Book of the Month pick. This was a fun and quick read.
Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams is a quick, light summer romance. I finished this one in no time.
The Agathas by Kathleen Glasgow & Liz Lawson is a YA mystery inspired by Agatha Christie novels.
10x is Easier than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy explores the power of going after bigger goals
Younger You by Dr. Kara Fitzgerald - Science-backed guidance for lowering your biological age
Origin by Dan Brown - I read this free on my library’s Libby digital book app! If you liked The Da Vinci Code, this features the same main character.
Someone Else’s Shoes by JoJo Moyes - This was my Book of the Month pick in February ‘23
Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn - I picked up this book at Mystery to Me in Madison, WI
Lessons In Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus

Check out my ongoing, full Apple Music Playlist. It has a wide range of styles as I teach Zumba, Hip Hop in addition to my regular listening preferences (and some are clean, some not).
Good People by Mumford & Sons and Pharrell Williams
Might As Well Dance by Jason Mraz

Everybody Get Up by Yes Yes No Maybe
Bring the Beat is new to my teaching playlist, but it’s a favorite from one of my fellow instructor’s class list. Thanks Kara!
Independently Owned - from the new Broadway show “Shucked.” Rumor has it that during preview showings of this musical, the audiences gave Alex Newell a standing ovation mid-show after this song!
Brighter Day - Michael Franti & Spearhead (one of many of his songs from the movie “Champions”)
Walking Each Other Home - Dierks Bentley
Turbulence - P!nk
Hold on Tight - Aloe Blacc
Somebody - Sam Ryder
Learning/Loving
Faster Way workouts - This is a whole nutrition and fitness program, but I am a member because I really like the workouts. This is a partner link and I do receive a small benefit if you were to sign up with this link.
Five Minute Journal - I was gifted one of these this spring as part of a coaching program I was taking part in. I love the simplicity of it and think it’s a great way to get started with some daily mindset work
Bumble & Bumble’s Pret a Powder Post workout dry shampoo spray. Go from the workout to work, smells great and it works!
Go Big or Go Home - By Sophia Lee’s Youtube home makeover series, one of my talented nieces is a key part of this team
Beauty Binder - Created by a fellow female coach who dreamed this up and made it happen!
Netflix Nike Fitness - If you already pay for Netflix you have some great fitness options (and new workouts added in March!)
Fringe Journals - I love a new journal and this is one of my favorite brands
The Glucose Goddess shares interesting information about balancing your blood sugar and how that impacts your health and weight.
Habit Tracker - It’s like a sticker chart for grown-up goals. Each little checkmark or X creates a tiny hit of dopamine in your brain, the more you track the more your brain wants to keep doing it!
Iowa Girl Eats is one of my favorite Midwestern bloggers. Almost every recipe we have tried from her site has gone over well. We like this one with a roast from our friends at Walk-Era Farms
Best Body from Dr. Rachel Paul - I love following Dr. Rachel on Instagram for quick and easy healthy meals
